Tomato rice is a rice dish made mostly in Southern India. It has a delicious tangy taste due to tomato being the key ingredient.

As we are making this tomato rice for toddlers, we shall be using minimum spices. You can vary the flavors based on your child’s palate. If he/she can tolerate some spice then feel free to add some chili powder as well.

This is a quick and easy recipe that can be made in less than 20 mins if you have precooked rice.

How to make Tomato Rice? (Step by Step)

  1. In a pan heat some oil and then when hot add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, chana dal (Bengal Gram)and urad dal (Black Gram Skinned). As the oil is hot let them splutter for 10 secs.
